TicketMaster joins Worldcoo community!

WELCOME!

logo_worldcoo_ticketWe are super proud to see that every time there are more companies who offer their users the possibility to collaborate with social projects around the world. In this occasion, it does it one of the biggest: TicketMaster, the world’s leading ticket sales company and first in the sector in Spain.

This means that from now on, when we buy a ticket for going to the theatre, to a concert or to a soccer stadium, for example, we will have the option to add one euro for a concret social cause, like poverty eradication, scientific research or social inclusion.

Each month, TicketMaster will collaborate with a specific NGO, such as “Theodora Foundation, “Unicef” or “Oxfam Intrmon”.

Its first challenge: facilitate the access to drinking water.

The conflict in Lake Chad, caused by the expansión of the Boko Harem group and the military response, implies immense and unknown suffering for millions of people in one of the poorest regions of the world.

In total, more than 11 million people need urgent help. Of these, 7 are at risk of hunger, 450,000 are children.

Insecurity prevents people from accessing basic social services and has destroyed infrastructure. That’s why the work of organizations like Oxfam Intermón is increasingly important. The entity works in the area to deal with this situation, ensuring access to food and drinking water for the displaced population in the area’s basin: Chad, Niger and Nigeria.

On this occasion, Ticketmaster customers will have the opportunity to collaborate with them to rehabilitate and build wells that ensure the distribution of drinking water to people who have fled their homes and communities.

In December they will collaborate with “Theodora Foundation” and throughout 2018, with many other NGO such as “Vicente Ferrer Foundation“, “Uno Entre Cien Mil” or “Unicef“, among others.

HERE you can see the actual fundraising status for each project.

Cholera outbreak emergency campaign

unicefTo the conflict that already threatens millions of children in Yemen, a dangerous outbreak of cholera is now linked. Health services, halved by the conflict, are on the verge of collapse and do not provide enough to meet the growing number of people suffering from this disease.

Without a proper water and sanitation system, cholera is transmitted at high speed and without health centers or economic resources, it is not possible to face a health emergency like this.

logoIn front of this bad situation, Unicef is working to deal this outbreak of cholera, distributing medical supplies and drinking water. After collaborating with Codespa Foundation in order to train young people at risk of social exclusion, Nicequest users will join Unicef in the cholera prevention.

With their help, 1.170 Yemen children will have access to drinking water for a year to prevent further cholera infections.

Remember that, if you want, you can check the collecting process HERE.

IMG-20170420-WA0015 - copiaSome days ago we received an e-mail from Miquel and Mireia, a young couple who in a few days were going to start a long journey that would take them around the world. They had heard about us and they asked us if they could participate in some of the projects we help to fund in some of the different countries they would visit in the next weeks.

When we talked them about our Worldcoo Ambassadors Program and proposed them to join it, they accepted instantly.

Mireia studied ADE and Market Research and lives in Barcelona; Miquel is from Palma, but he has been living in Barcelona since he came here to study Chemical Engineering and Environmental Engineering.

Both have in common a strong social commitment, they love traveling and knowing new ways of living. Mireia, for example, has collaborated on numerous occasions as a volunteer in different groups; Miquel has been involved with the Center for Development Cooperation of the UPC.

Today at this time, surely they will be in Thailand, their first stop of this long adventure that lie ahead.

During their trip, they will travel in Southeast Asia (Thailand, Laos, Vietnam, Cambodia, Malaysia …), Oceania and South America (Chile, Argentina, Bolivia, Peru …). Along the way, they will visit several of the social projects that our ecommerce with cause have helped to finance, will help us to know closely the reality of the region and to know the present and future needs.

If you want to follow in his footsteps, stay tuned because their adventure has just begun!
