One donation every second

Today we are happy to share that Worldcoo registers a minimum of one donation every second; it means, 97,453 donations every day for charity purposes.  

The Charity Rounding Up is one of the main fundraising channels that Worldcoo develops. It is an innovative mechanism that enables that every time we use our card as a payment method, we have the option to round up the total amount of the purchase and donate a few cents to charity. Today, Worldcoo’s solution is available in more than 4,500 establishments. Companies such as Bon Preu Group,  Correos, muymucho, Eroski, Viena, Caprabo, Condis Supermarkets, Valvi or Wala, among others, already offer this and other solutions from Worldcoo.

Throughout this year, in which Coronavirus pandemic has had a huge impact, many of these companies have collaborated with projects led by organizations that are working on finding new treatments that help curb the disease, such as IrsiCaixa, la Fundación Clínic para la Investigación Biomédica or the  “Institut de Recerca Germans Trias i Pujol”. Also, others that are focused on  giving support to mitigate the effects that this situation generates to the most vulnerable people; it is the case of Save the Children, Aldeas Infantiles SOS, Cruz Roja or Street Child, among others.  This year, more than 8,825,000 donations have been made.

Worldcoo collaborates with more than 300 NGOs around the world with the objective of helping entities to found the economic recourse needed to boost their social & environmental projects around the world. In a short term, the purpose of the company is to consolidate the Charity Rounding Up in the main stores of the country. In a mid-term, to implement the fundraising channel in other countries such as Italy, Portugal or Ecuador.

muymucho solidario-01We are proud to see how the Charity Rounding Up is getting closer every day to commercial establishments of all kinds. Muy mucho is the first firm in the decoration and home sector to implement the new donation system.
As of this week, all very much customers can round the final amount of their purchase when they pay by card and donate the remaining cents to the medical humanitarian organization Doctors Without Borders (MSF).

The charity project

msfMillions of people around the world suffer the directly from the consequences of violence and conflict, displacement, epidemics and nutritional crises. In emergency situations like this,  arriving as soon as possible is key to guaranteeing the survival of thousands of people.
The amount collected will go to the emergency fund of Doctors Without Borders (Médicos Sin Fronteras in Spain) so that the entity has the necessary resources to provide medical assistance in humanitarian crises.

This month, the customers of “Bonpreu and Esclat” Supermarket collaborate with “Càritas Catalunya”

logo_BonPreuEsclatThe actual health crisis caused  by  COVID-19 is becoming a social crisis with devasting consequences for many people and families. But this crisis is not  affecting all people equally, but the impact has been more evident in those households that were already in a more precarious situation.

logo caritasThis month, Bonpreu and Esclat  customers will be able to round up the final amount of their purchase in order to collaborate with  Càritas Catalunya.

The money raised will help support, for 3 months, people and families cared for by Caritas in poverty so that they can have access to food or basic necessities, depending on their socioeconomic situation and family composition, providing them with the financial means and support, so that they are themselves, autonomously, those who are administered.

In total, 700 adults and children living in more than 200 households in financial difficulties will be able to access adequate and healthy food.

Micro donations to fight against COVID-19

We are living an unprecedented situation. Today, there are more than 700,000 cases of people infected by COVID-19, 37,000 people have dead and 187 countries are affected.

There are many organizations that are working on finding, as soon as possible, new treatments that help to stop the disease. Others, are focusing on providing support to mitigate the effects of the pandemic among the most vulnerable groups.

Over the last days, our partners have launched different emergency campaigns to raise funds for all these NGOs.  Banco Sabadell, bonÀrea, Bonpreu i Esclat, Correos, Glovo,  Iberdrola, Nicequest, PromoFarma, Sprinter, Ticketmaster… all of them have launched diferent fundraising campaigns to help Aldeas Infantiles SOS, Cruz Roja, Fundació Clínic per la Recerca Biomédica, IsGlobal, IrsiCaixa, Save The Children or UNICEF.

Together, we have already raised more than 191,000 donations!

Today is the World Cancer Day, a key date on the calendar to make visible the importance of medical research, necessary to find new and better treatments that contribute to increase the healing capacity and decrease the side effects of the disease.

This month, some of the companies that collaborate with us, have joined the cause and show their commitment with people with cancer and with the medical research.

logo_BonPreuEsclatFor example, through the Charity Round Up all the customers of Bonpreu i Esclat can make a micro-donation and collaborate with AFANOC to improve the life quality of children with cancer through leisure.

logo_ticketmasterBut they are not the only ones.  Ticketmaster España, for example, offer to all who buy a ticket, the option to add 1€ for charity and collaborate with AECC to guarantee the coverage of basic needs of patients with cancer at risk of social exclusion.

logo_hawkersAlso Hawkers collaborates with the cause. They have launched a new project in which they invite their customers to make a micro-donaton and collaborate with Cris Contra el Cáncer to contribute to improve the current medical therapies.

Finally the customers of bonÀrea have raised more than €46,500 to collaborate with child cancer research through the creation of the new Pediatric Cancer Center, leaded by SJD Sant Joan de Déu.

This Christmas, Ticketmaster collaborates with Special Olympics

specialSpecial Olympics España is is a non-profit organization that offers sports training and athletic competition throughout the year to children and adults with intellectual disabilities in different sports modalities, with the aim of developing physical aptitudes, demonstrating value, participating in an exchange of gifts, skills and fellowship with their families, Special Olympics athletes and society in general.

Training is essential for the development of your sports skills. Since, thanks to him, people with intellectual disabilities benefit physically, intellectually and socially.

Special Olympics, promotes such insertion by encouraging athletes to pass from training adapted to school programs, where they can compete in regular sports activities, one of them, and the most important is: the Special Olympics World Winter Games, which will take place in Stockholm from February 6 to 12, 2021, in which 2000 athletes from more than 100 countries with intellectual disabilities will participate. The delegation, which will represent Spain will consist of 40 people, will participate in three different sports: alpine skiing, cross-country skiing and Snowboarding.

Charity Rounding Up to collaborate with Save the Children

condisCondis Supermarkets start today a new campaign to help Save the Children to promote the development of children under 6 years old in vulnerable situations.

From now on, the customers of Condis who want, can round up their ticket and donate the cents to a social cause each time they pay with card.

The children’s stage (0-6 years) is one of the main stages of development. In this age range, most of the neurological development of children occurs, and is critical in order to reach the cognitive and neurological bases.

37-Save-The-ChildrenThrough the “Let’s Play Together” program, the organization works to reduce the consequences that poverty causes to children and encourage their integral development.

The program works as a space where families who are in precarious, disruptive situations and who experience important challenges can access them with their children.

Through intervention, children develop cognitive, emotional and relational dynamics, placing them in the center of the intervention, as rights holders.

Thanks to all the funds collected, the organization will be able to provide the necessary material for the development of the activities and 40 children under 6, as well as their families, will be part of these activities.

Charity Rounding Up for AMPANS

LOGO VIENASince some months ago, Viena offers in all their establishments the Charity Rounding Up, a new solution that enables people to make micro-donations for charity each time they pay with card.

The first campaign they collaborated with was dedicated to the research for a future without Alzheimer, together with the Pasqual Maragall Foundation. During the past months, all their customers have had the chance to collaborate with the Gasol Foundation to promote the physical exercise to improve children’s health.

logo_ampansNow, Viena starts a new campaign with the main aim of promote the labor insertion of people with intellectual disabilities, and they will do so with AMPANS Foundation.

The AMPANS Foundation accompanies people with intellectual disabilities of vulnerable situations so that they can develop their life projects, ensuring their rights, offering support and creating opportunities that make it possible.

Having a job makes people live fully, feel useful and contribute to society. In AMPANS, people with intellectual disabilities are helped to obtain and maintain a workplace in standardized environments, but when the incorporation into the world of business is not possible, the foundation creates adapted workplaces, with a wide range of possibilities to find the right place for each person.

One of the labor insertion projects that AMPANS wants to promote is an agro-social tourism project on the Urpina region, in the heart of Catalonia.

Cent to cent, the customers of Viena will collect to promote the agro-social tourism project that AMPANS develops in Urpina (Catalonia). The initiative will provide a workplace for 40 people with special needs in the coming years, and will raise awareness for the socio-labor inclusion of people with disabilities to the more than 20,000 visitors who are expected that will visit the farm.

Condis launches a new campaign to reforest the South of Catalonia

logo-condisLast month, a huge fire affected the South of Catalonia, with more than 5,000 hectares burned. For this reason, Condis Supermarket launches today a new fundraising campaign to help the people affected and respond to the damage that the dire caused to the territory.

Through the Social Round Up, from this week, all the customers of Condis who pay with card have the option to round up the final amount of their purchase and donate the cents to the project leaded by “Rebrotem”.

“Rebrotem”  is the social initiative created by a group of people from the territory and its objective is to dignifying and reducing the damages caused to the peasantry, livestock and the territory of the more than 5,000 hectares affected.

Maxcolchón starts a new fundraising campaign through our charity widget

In Spain, there are more than 8 million people over 65 years old, of which 20% live alone and many of them feel lonely and isolated, a situation that can cause detrimental effects on their physical and mental health.

There’s a lack of economic and human resources to ensure the social coverage of our elders. The subsidies for dependent persons have been cut, which, added to the freezing of pensions and the pharmaceutical copay, have deteriorated their quality of life.

logo-solidariosWith the objective of combat the social exclusion and make life better for people over 65 who feel lonely and isolated, the NGO Solidarios  organizes weekly visits to senior citizens who need someone to spend time with during the week, thus reinforcing their illusion, their self-esteem, their social skills and keeping them active. While they share a conversation, a leisure time or a walk, older people recover healthy habits such as going for a walk, doing cultural activities and enjoying a good conversation.

logo-maxcolchonThe customers of Maxcolchón have recently started a new challenge for charity in order to collaborate with Solidarios to break the isolation and loneliness of the elderly, avoiding depression and cognitive disorders, recover healthy habits and strengthen the illusion and self-esteem of the elderly.

Everyone who wants to collaborate,  can make it by adding €1 to their shopping basket and continue with the usual payment process.

In addition to the contributions made by customers, Maxcolchón collaborates with this project with an own contribution of €2,000.

Thanks to the donations made through Maxcolchón’s clients, 60 elderly people will be able to receive visits at home, thus breaking their loneliness and recovering social relationships.
