capcelera_ticket

This September, Ticketmaster collaborates with Save the Children

Unfortunately, there are still many countries where girls are forced to leave primary school at an early age to start working as domestic servants and contribute to household income. Senegal is one of these countries.

Although it is one of the most stable West African countries where the survival of children has improved in recent years, but education remains the main concern: less than one in five girls can go to high school, while among adults there are only six literate women for every 10 literate men.

Maxcolchón together with elderly people

max

Maxcolchón starts a new fundraising campaign through our charity widget

In Spain, there are more than 8 million people over 65 years old, of which 20% live alone and many of them feel lonely and isolated, a situation that can cause detrimental effects on their physical and mental health.

There’s a lack of economic and human resources to ensure the social coverage of our elders. The subsidies for dependent persons have been cut, which, added to the freezing of pensions and the pharmaceutical copay, have deteriorated their quality of life.

logo-solidariosWith the objective of combat the social exclusion and make life better for people over 65 who feel lonely and isolated, the NGO Solidarios  organizes weekly visits to senior citizens who need someone to spend time with during the week, thus reinforcing their illusion, their self-esteem, their social skills and keeping them active. While they share a conversation, a leisure time or a walk, older people recover healthy habits such as going for a walk, doing cultural activities and enjoying a good conversation.

logo-maxcolchonThe customers of Maxcolchón have recently started a new challenge for charity in order to collaborate with Solidarios to break the isolation and loneliness of the elderly, avoiding depression and cognitive disorders, recover healthy habits and strengthen the illusion and self-esteem of the elderly.

Education for young people

capcelera_impulsa

In line with the Labour Day, the different small ecommerce that collaborate with us through the charity widget, start today a new challenge in order to support the access to education for young people.

Did you know that in Spain, 32% of young people are excluded from the state scholarship system, between 40% -50% fail in the medium-level formal education cycles and 32% do not have a high school diploma?

Many students can’t continue with their formal education for economic reasons and many of those who start drop out due to lack of personal support

logo_impulsaIn front of this situation, organizations such as Fundación Impulsa work in order that all students have the same opportunities of studies.

Impulsa wants to give them the opportunity to achieve it, preventing their economic and social situation from being a barrier. They assist the young people transversally through the foundation’s scholarships by providing new professional opportunities to which they could not have had access.

With more than 100 successful cases, Impulsa has achieved that 95% of the scholarship students finish their studies. Sixty-two percent of them continue their studies at a higher level than at the end of Vocational Training. And 71% of young people get a job when they finish their studies.

Through this campaign, young studies with socio economic difficulties will have the opportunity to continue their studies.

We remind you that, if you want, you can have more information and follow the fundraising status HERE.

New charity challenge for the customers of Hawkers!

capcelera_hawkers_save

After financing their last project, with which they collaborated with Unoentrecienmil to support childhood leukemia research (you can remember the project here), the customers of Hawkers start a new charity project.

The cause: Daily meal for children at risk of social exclusionlogo_hawkers

Poverty has serious consequences for children. One of the main problems for families in this situation is nutrition. The lack of resources due to the socioeconomic family situation, as well as the lack of social security benefits such as school food subsidies, lead to 40% of families at risk of social exclusion living in a situation of food insecurity. This puts at risk the correct physical and mental development of the most vulnerable children, those from 3 to 6 years old.

stc_logoIn front of this situation, Save The Children works to reduce the consequences that poverty causes in childhood. For this reason, they provide educational and nutritional support to children who are at risk of social exclusion. Through this project, they will provide food reinforcement to these children and their families.

From now on, the total amount collected by the customers of Hawkers, will be used to provide food reinforcement to these children and their families.
