Good news! Sprinter, one of the top sport retailers in Spain has joined the Worldcoo community!
In line with its new social campaign recently launched, the goal of the company is to help people who run away from conflicts, persecution, poverty and seek a home. So, from today all of the Sprinter customers can add their extra euro to their purchases and help the NGO Proactiva Open Arms to distribute 300 basic emergency kits to people rescued from the Mediterranean Sea.
This is great challenge if we consider that since the beginning of 2016, more than 30,000 migrants or refugees have reached European coasts, 9% more than in the same period last year.
In front of this situation, Proativa Open Arms works to save people who try to escape by sea looking for a better life, facing all the dangers that this entails. Since its beginnings, the entity has saved more than 17,000 people and with this initiative, the entire community of Sprinter can also contribute their part.
In addition, the company has joined “Brazadas de Vida” challenge to show that through sport you can help others. Thanks to the donations made by Sprinter, four swimmers from the Master Swimming Club of Madrid will cross the Mediterranean Sea between Formentera and Ibiza for a total of 18 kilometers, swimming restlessly for more than six hours, for a social cause. The project seeks to raise public awareness of the serious crisis of displaced people currently living in Europe, the dangerous crossings they face in the Mediterranean and the important work of the NGO Proactiva Open Arms.
Here you have the video that they have prepared for the occasion (in Spanish),
