The student is from Pakistan, Izar Alí. He has been the person who scored the most, regarding to his qualifications. Now he will soon sign the policy agreement for the Master, so the money raised for him can be unlocked and spend for the first study payments.

We will keep you turned within the beginning of the university year about him and his first steps at the University.

Thank you to all the people who committed with the project!

[Funded] Scholarship for an International Master of Peace

We are glad to announce you that the project Let’s have one more is now completely raised!

A student from an impoverished country will be welcome soon at the Universitat Jaume I for a two years Master of Peace.

This project has been started because some budget cuts reached the education and the cooperation with the economic crisis. During all the campaign, we have been surprised by the incredible energy engaged by the department of the Peace Master to raise funds. Also, we are really glad to see that donors came from all over the world.

Morover, Worldcoo funded his first project, it is also a success for us because we proved that our platform is operational. We hope that this funded project is the first of a long list to come!

Again, thank you to all our generous donors and all the people who have been a part of the organization of the project. We will now keep you tuned about the construction of the project. You will find on this blog a follow up until the end of the course of that student.

54% of the project released !

Congratulations everybody, you did half of it. Let’s have a look at the figures…

You are 93 Donors from 15 different countries!

Most of you are from Spain, but we have people from all over the world! Argentina, Germany, Nicaragua, México, United Kingdom, Panama, Sahara, Denmark, Rwanda, Ecuador, Switzerland, United States, Venezuela, and Austria.

You raised 2,705€ with an average of 30€ per donor.

We’ve seen a good growth of the project, if you look at the graph, you’ll find that the founds are growing regularly but you have to keep going. According to it, we should expect 100% of the project by June 25th.

So, what’s next? Now you have to tell your friends, your family, your coworkers or classmates and everybody that the project needs their help!

The best way to achieve it is to spread the maximum with your community and explain them why it is so important to form ambassadors of peace (see the previous article).

We count on you! Support the project on Worldcoo.

Almost halfway

45% released in fifteen days! You’re doing a great work. It’s a pleasure to see so many people committed in the same cause. You are 79 to have make a donation.

Little recall : The project consist in provide a scholarship to a student from an impoverished country. The scholarship include a Master of Peace at the Universitat Jaume I in Castellon. The final objective is to train an ambassador of peace. In this way, the student will be capable to spread peaceful means when he will be back in his originary country.

Remember that one of the most important reason why impoverished countries are in low developement is because there are many problems with peace. A political regime disturbed cannot match with an economic development. So the main way to help those countries is to teach them how to ease tensions.

You already did mountains! But half of the project still needs your help!
Continue to spread the word at home, at work, with your family, your friends, and all the people you meet.

How important are ambassadors of peace?

As Vicent Martínez Guzmán, founder of the Master’s program says : “There is not only one way of understanding peace. There are many ways of making peace, as there are diverse people and cultures”.

Indeed, to understand and to be able to reflect about peace, a specific and strong program has to be followed. That is what the Master program of the University Jaume I provides. The faculty staff come from prestigious and internationally recognized renowned universities and institutions of peace. In this way, they promote education in Co-development, Communication of peace, Conflict, Democracy, Gender, Humanitarian aid, Human rights, Peace cultures, Peace theories, and Post colonial studies among others.

An ambassador of peace has to be a representative of his state. His mission is to disseminate informations in order to keep peace and establish good relationships with other states. But the peace knowledges are not easy to get. The program that the Peace Master UJI is trying to finance is the one which can teach these knowledges.

A student from an impoverished country needs you, because his country needs you, and because we are all concerned about the peace in the world. Donate for the Worldcoo project to engage in one of the most important causes of our beautiful world (yes it is!), or just share the project with your friends, your family, and your community!

Help us spread the peace!

Provide a scholarship for a student from an impoverished country

The Universitat Jaume believes that impoverished countries needs agents of peace to promote development, humanitarian aid, peace culture, democracy, human rights, and of course communication of peaceful means.

Located at Castellón, in Spain, the university provides a two years academic program composed in three main subjects. The first one is Peace and Culture, then Peace and Conflicts, and Peace and development. To complete the program, two options could be chosen, Research Track (which give access to the Doctorate International Studies in Peace), and Professional Training Track (which contain an internship in an institution or organization).

Today, with the economic crisis, some budget cuts reached the education and the cooperation. Due to that, they don’t have money to afford a scholarship for a student from an impoverished country.

Nevertheless, the Master program decided to keep going by starting a crowd funding campaign on Worldcoo to finance a complete scholarship for one student.
