New collaboration with All We Wear Group

All We Wear Group and Mastercard collaborate with the Spanish Red Cross in “Pepe Jeans London” stores

AWWG, global fashion group, and Mastercard collaborate with the Spanish Red Cross to offer psychosocial support to those who have suffered the most during the pandemic. Through this initiative, customers of Pepe Jeans London stores will be able to aid people affected by the health crisis, especially the most vulnerable.

Thus, Pepe Jeans London stores in Spain become the first to carry out this initiative, soon to be followed in other markets such as Portugal, Germany, and France. Through our innovative donation mechanism, in which on this occasion we have used Adyen Giving’s technological solution,  Pepe Jeans London clients will be able to make a micro-donation to charity when paying by card.

This innovative donation system is simple, secure, and completely transparent for customers and stores: donations operate as a different transaction from purchases and will go directly to the Spanish Red Cross.

Coping with the pandemic

Aiming to cope with the effects of the pandemic between all, the global fashion group AWWG will be the first to activate this donation method. When paying by card, their customers will be offered three donation options: 0,5€, 1€, and 2€. 100% of every contribution will go to the Spanish Red Cross.

All We Wear Group will be joined by the technology multinational Mastercard in this effort. Both companies will contribute to the fundraising campaign by matching every donation received until doubling the initial budget of 10.000€.

The funds collected will go to the project “Cruz Roja te Escucha,” whose objective is to offer psychosocial support to the following:

  • Those who, due to their circumstances of illness, loneliness, advanced age, loss of employment, functional diversity, or homelessness, among others, are most affected by the pandemic.
  • Relatives and friends of acutely ill patients or victims who died from the disease caused by COVID-19, and to those hospitalized or isolated at home with severe symptoms.
  • Volunteers and workers of the Red Cross, who are carrying out humanitarian work.

Workers and volunteers of the Red Cross, who are specialists in psychosocial support and accompaniment, will provide this service. Regarding the most complex cases or situations, they will be aided by psychology professionals of the Organization who specialize in different areas of psychological care.

Today we are happy to share that Worldcoo registers a minimum of one donation every second; it means, 97,453 donations every day for charity purposes.  

The Charity Rounding Up is one of the main fundraising channels that Worldcoo develops. It is an innovative mechanism that enables that every time we use our card as a payment method, we have the option to round up the total amount of the purchase and donate a few cents to charity. Today, Worldcoo’s solution is available in more than 4,500 establishments. Companies such as Bon Preu Group,  Correos, muymucho, Eroski, Viena, Caprabo, Condis Supermarkets, Valvi or Wala, among others, already offer this and other solutions from Worldcoo.

Throughout this year, in which Coronavirus pandemic has had a huge impact, many of these companies have collaborated with projects led by organizations that are working on finding new treatments that help curb the disease, such as IrsiCaixa, la Fundación Clínic para la Investigación Biomédica or the  “Institut de Recerca Germans Trias i Pujol”. Also, others that are focused on  giving support to mitigate the effects that this situation generates to the most vulnerable people; it is the case of Save the Children, Aldeas Infantiles SOS, Cruz Roja or Street Child, among others.  This year, more than 8,825,000 donations have been made.

Worldcoo collaborates with more than 300 NGOs around the world with the objective of helping entities to found the economic recourse needed to boost their social & environmental projects around the world. In a short term, the purpose of the company is to consolidate the Charity Rounding Up in the main stores of the country. In a mid-term, to implement the fundraising channel in other countries such as Italy, Portugal or Ecuador.
