MeQuedoUno improves nutrition of children at risk of social exclusion

Captura

Because of the social and economic situation that Spain has experienced during the last years, many families have been seriously harmed, and all their members have suffered the consequences, especially the youngest.

This Christmas, all the customers of MeQuedoUno have a challenge: improve the currently nutrition of children at risk of social exclusion.

logotipo_aldeas_infantiles_sosThey will do it together with Aldeas Infantiles, an international organization that takes care of the fundamental rights of children.

Through its “Daily Centers” program, the entity offers an adequate socio-educational, therapeutic and integral intervention, promoting strategies that enable an improvement in their personal, family and social well-being.

Specially, the total amount that users of MeQuedoUno collect, will help 30 children at risk of social exclusion receive a meal per day throughout the school year.

The initiative is launched after collaborating with Aladina Foundation in the fight against childhood cancer. MeQuedoUno clients have just funded the total amount needed to fund a grant to improve the diagnosis and treatment of childhood cancer (you can remember the project HERE).

Don’t forget that you can follow the donation process HERE.

TicketMaster joins Worldcoo community!

WELCOME!

logo_worldcoo_ticketWe are super proud to see that every time there are more companies who offer their users the possibility to collaborate with social projects around the world. In this occasion, it does it one of the biggest: TicketMaster, the world’s leading ticket sales company and first in the sector in Spain.

This means that from now on, when we buy a ticket for going to the theatre, to a concert or to a soccer stadium, for example, we will have the option to add one euro for a concret social cause, like poverty eradication, scientific research or social inclusion.

Each month, TicketMaster will collaborate with a specific NGO, such as “Theodora Foundation, “Unicef” or “Oxfam Intrmon”.

Its first challenge: facilitate the access to drinking water.

The conflict in Lake Chad, caused by the expansión of the Boko Harem group and the military response, implies immense and unknown suffering for millions of people in one of the poorest regions of the world.

In total, more than 11 million people need urgent help. Of these, 7 are at risk of hunger, 450,000 are children.

Insecurity prevents people from accessing basic social services and has destroyed infrastructure. That’s why the work of organizations like Oxfam Intermón is increasingly important. The entity works in the area to deal with this situation, ensuring access to food and drinking water for the displaced population in the area’s basin: Chad, Niger and Nigeria.

On this occasion, Ticketmaster customers will have the opportunity to collaborate with them to rehabilitate and build wells that ensure the distribution of drinking water to people who have fled their homes and communities.

In December they will collaborate with “Theodora Foundation” and throughout 2018, with many other NGO such as “Vicente Ferrer Foundation“, “Uno Entre Cien Mil” or “Unicef“, among others.

4 Reasons why social involvement helps the business to increase customer loyalty

As we are companies which are integrating into society and developing our business within its framework, there is no denying that we have a responsibility within our surroundings. Returning to the people and to the environment the resources which they make available to us and which allows us to offer and commercialize our product or service is a question of commitment and consistency.

Beyond the involvement with society itself, there are more reasons to act responsible as a business and to carry out actions which promote sustainability and respect for our society and environment.

The relation with the client, in fact, is one of the strongest reasons as to why you should opt for engaging yourself as a business with society.  The commitment and involvement which companies show have a lot to say about their capability of increasing their clients loyalty. Let´s have a look why:

increase-low

1. The competitive nature of companies makes the client more demanding. There are increasingly more alternatives when making a purchase of a product of contracting a service, the client has many places to chose from and they are aware of this, therefore making the company more demanding of itself and the client more demanding when choosing the product or service. In this particular context, the businesses´social involvement could prove to be the deciding factor.

2. The client builds ties with brands that they like. Another of the characteristics of the world that we live in is the possibility that brands have to establish relationships which mean more than the simple one-off purchase. Social involvement is a reason to involve the client in the day-to-day activities of the business and therefore, strengthening the links they have and assuring the relationship lasts.

3. The client looks for brands that match his values. What we buy says a lot about our personality, which is precisely why we are so demanding with what we purchase. Recognizing our values in a brand or company is the foundation of a successful and long-lasting relationship.

4. Bad news travel fast. Neglecting the environment or society does not go unnoticed anymore. Mistakes will reach your client in the blink of an eye and damage your reputation. Acting responsibly is the only way to avoid that risk.

Vegetable gardens against child malnutrition

capcelera_mali

Mali is one of the poorest countries around the world, with an income average of $1.500per capita/year.  The main resource of funds there is agriculture; in fact, 80% of the employees in Mali work in agriculture.

logo-casa-de-mali-webVegetable gardens are shared by all the people of the village and exploited by women. Their products are the sustenance of the families, reason why it becomes a point of vital importance, source of its feeding. In addition, the garden is also a source of resources, since women can sell a part of their products in the market.

In Djelibani, a small village in the South of the country, the vegetable garden that exist today is too small and doesn’t supply the needs of the village.

The main problem is double: on the one hand, the lack of the needed resources to cultivate good vegetables and, on the other hand, the deficiency knowledge of horticulture world. The consequence of all this is the increasing child malnutrition among young people.

logo_planetahuertoIn line with its environmental commitment, Planeta Huerto is now starting a new project in order to improve this situation. They will do it in collaboration with Casa de Mali, an entity that, among others, works to end child malnutrition, increasing the production of vegetables in Mali and providing new crop technologies.

Thanks of the funds collected by Planeta Huerto, the existing vegetable garden could be expanded and 20 women will receive agricultural training to improve productivity.

The start of this project coincides with the financing of the dam that will benefit more tan 1000 people in Agraharam, a small village in Andhra Pradesh (India) and it wil be implemented by Fundación Vicente Ferrer.

Moreover, 9 out of every 100 new cases of leprosy detected are boys and girls. And this figure is increasing, which indicates that the transmission is still active and occurs at younger ages.

logo_fontillesLuckily, there are organizations, such as Fontilles, a non-governmental association, who fights and work to physical rehabilitation of children and young people affected by leprosy and improve their life conditions.

After finalization its last social project, Uvinum users have now the opportunity collaborate with them. Their aim is to fund the surgical material and medicines necessaries in order to 40 kids can be treated with orthopedic surgery. 5 reasons why CSR is not a cost, but an investment

capcelera-inversió

The biggest difference between a cost and an investment is in the return that one or the other generates for the company, and weather it supports its growth. An example of the contrast is that the coffee you have every morning is a cost, whereas publicity for the company is an investment. What about CSR? Is it a cost or an investment?

In order to respond to this question, we must analyse what is the return for a company if they spend money in Corporate Social Responsibility:

1. The image? A coherent action in CSR, well executed and well communicated, will directly impact the image of the company, showing itself as a company with values, and as coherent and responsible, and therefore bettering the perception that their audience will have of them.

2. Talent? It is a fact that the businesses involved with society and its surroundings does attract more talent and they are able to keep the talent in their team for longer. To rely on a more motivated team with talent is a crucial condition in order for any business to grow.

3. Efficiency? Many CSR actions which are related to looking after the environment (recycling, energy efficiency…) imply a saving for the business, and therefore not only do they not lead to an increase of costs, but they actually reduce them.

4. Loyalty? The client values a responsible action on the part of the business and they thank them by being loyal to their brand. To carry out activities in line with certain values and defending these values with CSR will assure more successful and long-lasting relationships between the business and their audience, relations which will be in the foundations to the growth of the business.

5. A risk reduction? The socially responsible practices in the company reduce risks in which a business could potentially face and it permits them to have more control, something which reduces the possibility that said risks become a cost for the business, affecting its growth.

CSR generates value for the company in such important areas such as image, the relationship with the customer or the staff, and also, it could lead to a cut in costs and risks which the businesses have to deal with. All of this leads us to the conclusion that, without the fear of making a mistake, CSR is an investment and not a cost for the business.

And what about you? Will you invest in CSR?

Against family desintegration in Ghana

capcelera_oafrica

The users of Zacaris have already completed their latest social project! Thanks to this, Giggle Doctors will visit 100 hospitalized kids in their room, which will allow them to spend a funny time and escape from the daily routine. If you want, you can remember the project HERE.

For their next challenge, our e-commerce with cause moves to Ghana, where 80% of the children that live in orphanages have family, but the lack of resources prevents them from taking care of them.

They will collaborate with the NGO OAfrica, a non-profit organization working in Ghana whose mission is to empower vulnerable children and young adults whose rights have been compromised and reduce child abandonment and family disintegration.

Through their Family Support program, they keep children out of orphanages and in their own families. Specially trained social workers locate families and assess whether minors can meet with them. Then an individualized care plan (food, school and medical costs) is developed to ensure that the child receives the necessary care and supports the family to grow up healthy and happy within their own family.

Thanks to the money raised by the users of Zacaris, an individualized plan of care for 10 children could be offered for one year.

Good news about our internationalization process!

capcelera

We start a new collaboration with Italia Tren, the distributor company of Tren Italia, the main leading railway company in Italy.

Some months ago, we talked about our main aims for this 2017, such as starting our expanding and internationalization process worldwide.

logo_italiatrenToday we are super happy to share with you that we have recently signed an agreement with “Global SGA Group”, the distributor company of TrenItalia, the leading railway company in Italia.

Through this new deal, from now on, anyone who wants to buy a train ticket to visit the country online, will have the option to donate one solidarity euro.

And to begin with, the company debuts with a project led by the NGO Street Child. In particular, they have the challenge of raising funds to build a basic rural school and training a teacher to facilitate access to education for three years to 200 children in Sierra Leone, where it is estimated that there are currently more than 230,000 children of primary school age without schooling.

As we mentioned, the non-profit organization behind this project is Street Child, whose mission is to promote access to quality education for those children who don’t go to school, many of whom live on the streets, both in urban and rural areas.
