We celebrated the 2nd Worldcoo Volunteer Day!

capcelera_voluntariat

Last Friday, we changed our computers and notebooks for paint brushes. In the context of Giving Tuesday  we wanted to spend, in a direct and personal manner, a morning together with those most in need for the second time.

We were with our colleagues fromObra Social Hospital San Juan de Dios, an entity with which we have collaborated several times. The objective was to participate in the rehabilitation of a flat, supervised by the same entity, where young people newly arrived to Spain live.

We spent a very different and productive morning in Sant Vicenç dels Horts (Barcelona). It was a good occasion to share a good time working as a team all together and, also, to know from first-hand the great job that Obra Social does with the management of insertion flats that promote autonomy and offer a home for young newcomers.

Following, some of the pictures from last Friday.

5 reasons to involve your team in CSR actions

Social Corporate Responsibility is a question which is being increasingly linked with the essence of the business. Today it is not enough to simply come across as responsible, now you have to be responsible and show it in every action you take.

In this context, the involvement and participation of your team in your company’s CSR strategy becomes essential. Every employer must have a voice inside of the business and feel part of the overall voice of the company.

Why? Because it gives your company gives these benefits:

1. An involved team is a coherent business. At the end of the day, a business is nothing more than the total of people which has been integrated into it. A team which doesn’t share the values that the company defends will find it difficult to represent it whatever the case, which will undermine the image of the company and go against the efforts made regarding CSR.

2. An involved team is a faithful team. If people play a fundamental role in trying to achieve a key objective in the company, getting faithful people to the company is a necessary condition for the positive development of the business. People are one of the most valuable assets of the company and involving them in the company’s strategical decisions makes them feel “at home”.

3. An involved team is a motivated team. Motivation moves mountains. Being able to get the employer to feel part of the business and its challenges gets the team to feel like these challenges are their own, and they will confront them with all of their energy in order to get better results.

4. Sharing goals and values facilitates a better connection between members of the team and, therefore, contributes to the creation of a more pleasant working atmosphere, with more efficient relationships with the people who have integrated into the team.

5. An involved team attracts talent. Working in a business in which the team has a voice and a vote makes working in it a rewarding experience. This involvement grabs the attention of potential new employees as it seems an attractive prospect.

captura_cesc

Cesc Carbó is our last incorporation. From Sant Cugat (Barcelona), he joins Worldcoo as e-Commerce Developer.

He studied Industrial Engineering, but his professional career has been developed into different companies and sectors; both in start-ups, and in a large multinationals in the technology sector, where he has developed projects about business development and project management tasks.

He defines himself as a curios person and affirms that the adjective that best describes himself is “active”. “I like to know about many things, but I don’t deep into them: I guess I’m one of the victims of the generation of the 90’s, the access to a lot of information but with no time to assimilate it”.

Do you want to know more about him? Keep reading!

  • Welcome to Worldcoo, Cesc! What will be your role here?

To get companies to commit themselves to strengthening their commitment to society by relying on Worldcoo as the tool to do so.

  • What will be your main challenge?

Increase Worldcoo’s customer base, thinking in a future where our solutions will be in all online platforms around the world.

  • What do you like the most about Worldcoo?

It is a digital company that works to bring value where it is most needed, a key factor if we expect a change versus a more sustainable development of our societies.

  • By your profile and way of being, what distinctive component do you think you can contribute to the Worldcoo team?

I think I have a very versatile profile in this world of specialists. Within a while, I hope to feel satisfied that I have helped the Worldcoo team in areas unrelated to my most direct work responsibilities. Maybe, focused on managing teams or people.

And some more personal…

If you aren’t at work, we will surely find you… Doing sport and enjoying nature. I need time to escape to open spaces and relax, whether it’s flying across seas scuba diving or running through the mountains linking peaks and rocky places.

I enjoy traveling and I try to do it often. Whenever possible, combining adventure, nature and culture, but according to this order of priorities, if not possible the combination of all of them.

Some of my other hobbies are cats, writing, laughing, photography, movies, series, documentaries, technology and music (this last one just as a consumer).

Always that I can… I dedicate myself to observe and try to understand the world where we live, to enjoy a good meal and good drinking; All of them inescapable inheritance.

I love visiting places I don’t know, even if they are next to my home, and being permanently discovered.

You couldn’t live without… Enjoying the madness of the people.

If you could choose one “super power” it would be… Being able to move between dimensions and temporal spaces.
