Beschreibung

Animals do not judge, they do not discriminate, they provide a sense of self-esteem and they offer unconditional loyalty. According to various studies carried out on homeless people, animals foster a sense of responsibility and reward with affection the fulfillment of this responsibility. Furthermore, by acting as silent witnesses, they can steer their owners away from risky behaviour, thus allowing the construction of a positive moral identity. Homeless people who share their lives with pets are less likely to be depressed and are less likely to exhibit potentially harmful behaviour, such as drug use.

The homeless can not provide their animals shelters, nor diners, nor showers. Furthermore, these people can not afford the minimum veterinary assistance costs either. From the Altarriba Foundation, their intention is to provide solutions to this problem and pay for the veterinary expenses of these animals.

Aktivitäten

  • Identify with microchip the pets of the homeless.
  • Deworm internally and externally the animals.
  • Provide annual vaccinations to these animals (Tetra, Rabia, Tri, Leu, Puppy).
