Horse-assisted therapy contributes to the improvement of the quality of life of people with disabilities. For this reason, in LOVE HORSE they carry out a therapeutic and educational activity with the horse as a natural motivating instrument, which favors the stimulation, rehabilitation and reeducation of those functions and abilities that are altered in people with disabilities.
Children, adolescents and adults who come from special education schools, as well as residential educational action centers, complement the education they receive in these centers with horse-assisted therapy, as part of their daily activities. To carry out these activities, they move to the facilities of LOVE HORSE where, in the middle of nature and between vineyards, they perform twelve quarterly sessions of an hour and a half each during nine months that coincide with the school year. The contact with the horse allows them to stimulate muscles, joints, control emotions, improve relationship skills, tolerance and acceptance. All this facilitates greater autonomy to these people.
The professional team of LOVE HORSE determines the modality of assisted therapy that best suits the limitations and possibilities of each beneficiary. The modalities are the following: hippotherapy, therapeutic riding, therapeutic turning and social riding. Likewise, individual objectives will be established and the degree of achievement obtained will be evaluated, on which a final report will be issued and delivered to the center and / or family.
- Determine for each beneficiary the modality of assisted therapy with horses that is most suited to its limitations and possibilities: hippotherapy, therapeutic riding, therapeutic turning or social riding.
- Set individual goals for each participant.
- Conduct twelve quarterly sessions of one and a half hours each for nine months.
- Evaluate the degree of achievement obtained and issue a final report.
