Chile is experiencing the worst wave of forest fires in its history, with red alert in the regions of Coquimbo, Valparaíso, Metropolitana, O'Higgins, Maule and Biobío. It is estimated that the fire has devastated about 362.000 hectares in 119 incidents, leaving 11 fatalities and more than 2.800 victims. The Telefónica Volunteers will intervene in three areas, Hualqui, San Nicolás and Portezuelo, and they need your help to develop their support work.

Description

The fire wave that has affected central and southern Chile since January is having devastating effects. The regions of Coquimbo, Valparaíso, Metropolitana, O'Higgins, Maule and Biobío have experienced this situation in red alert, while the uncontrolled fire swept about 362.000 hectares in 119 accidents, leaving 11 fatalities and more than 2.800 victims, 1.736 of them in the commune of Constitución (Maule).

From Fundación Telefónica we are going to launch a campaign of aid to Chile, for which we ask for your cooperation. Our volunteers will participate in different projects of solidarity and reconstruction of the devastated areas when the emergency has been overcome and the hard reality of zero zone appears. You can collaborate by making a donation to make all this possible.
