The school "Karuna Computer Center" located in the province of Battambang, Cambodia, aims to promote quality computer education to the most disadvantaged people (disabled landmine victims, individualssuffering from Polio or children in vulnerable situations,...).
The center is managed from a central office with 6 classrooms located in different schools where more than 450 students are currently attending.
The project’s goal is that 90 young Cambodians with physical disabilities and girls from rural areas, have access to education. They learn the Cambodian alphabet and language through a dynamic educational program by computer. Through these courses, it is possible to strengthen the education provided in schools and enhance the skills and knowledge of young people.
- Provide computer classes during a year to 3 groups of 30 boys and girls, 120 hours per month.
- Design an educational program tailored to enhance their professional skills and personal capabilities.
- Train people with employability difficulties, mainly with disabilities or with limited resources, to have access to education and therefore a labour market and maintain themselves financially.
Who will benefit?
With 3,500€ 90 boys and girls will receive 120 hours monthly of language lessons and tutoring using computer software over the course of one year.
Providing access to education for the people experiencing poverty and exclusion as a key tool to combat these situations.
