Education for the Himalayan children

The WFH manages the Kailash Home in Kathmandu, a group of children from the remotest villages of the Himalayas, with the aim of donating them to education.

All the children of the Kailash Home, from nursery school to high school, receive a full academic education in private schools in Kathmandu. The daily schooling also allows the children to form friendships and links with their companies outside of Kailash Home. A growing number of Kailash students continue their studies through university programs and professional schools both in the region and around the world.

Mountaineers for Himalayas Foundation was set up in 2002 with the aim of paving the way for education for children in the Himalayan mountains.

The Kailash Home, which is the Foundation's main project, is a home for 100 children between the ages of 6 and 20 who receive academic and cultural education, as well as adequate nutrition and health care, and opportunities to participate in extracurricular activities and outings.

In addition, thanks to the collaboration of Vallnord, the young people of Kailash Home, as well as the users of Kathmandu Nursing Homes and the inhabitants of the villages of the Himalayan range, will receive the equipment used by the staff of Kailash Home to protect them from the cold of the Himalayas.

Thanks to your collaboration, it will be possible to cover the cost of shipping all these clothes to Nepal.

  • Reception of children and young people at Kailash Home.
  • Managing the logistics of transporting and shipping clothes for the youth of Kailash Home and the people who need it in the Himalayas.
