Action Aid is an international organization, working with over 15 million people in 45 countries for a world free from poverty and injustice. Due to the situation in Spain, Action Aid decided to develop a new program to address problems of Spanish children that live in low-income households.
The program Children and Family support is designed to provide students with a healthy, balanced and varied diet, which is a fundamental basis for our students’ good mental and physical development and grants for school duties, scholarships for extracurricular activities and educational support activities. However, these activities are complemented by activities with educational value in the fields of music and technology and with support for families to improve their income and living conditions and make that change sustainable. This program is developed in 30 schools from 8 regions.
- Provide students with a balanced diet through lunchroom programs and to teach their parents to healthy eating and responsible consumption.
- Provide to those students that can't afford them, grants for textbooks, basic school supplies and extracurricular activities or other educational support
Who will benefit?
The program, this year, will benefit 4,000 children directly and over 10,000 children indirectly.
Through collaboration with Zacaris, 2 students will have the chance to have a guaranteed annual scholar lunchroom.
