Description
During both the lockdown and the vacation period, the inequalities of boys and girls in a situation or risk of social exclusion and poverty have been enlarged and made evident. Job insecurity, unemployment, and the economic stress experienced by families affect children's school success and mental health.
Save the Children has identified different risks that require an effective intervention as soon as possible, such as the fact that the most vulnerable families do not have enough resources to purchase school supplies or personal protective equipment. For this reason, it will provide masks to guarantee a safe activity.
Activities
- Coverage of basic material: ensure that children have all the necessary school supplies such as notebooks, pencils, etc. for individual use to avoid contagion.
- Educational support: provide school reinforcement in the afternoon to boys and girls.
- Psychosocial support: weekly monitoring of families on their reincorporation to the new reality.
Who will benefit?
With your help Save the Children will distribute masks to 650 vulnerable boys and girls so that they can go school safely and properly.
Project objectives
Avoid that the economic or social exclusion situation in which children live does not prevent them from fully enjoying their rights and from reaching the maximum of their capacities.
