Description
Since 2013, Central African Republic is suffering from deep humanitarian crisis and has become one of the poorest and most unstable countries in the world. Although during the first half of 2016 there was an improvement in the situation of the country, in some places the security situation is extremely volatile and unstable.
Plan International, since June 2014, provides food assistance to vulnerable families, internally displaced persons, school feeding, seed distribution and protection in the regions of Mambéré Kadei and Ouham.
Activities
- Food ration distribution to schools for children and teachers to increase and retain their enrollment. Establishment of school canteens in schools that do not have them.
- Capacity-building activities for training and awareness-raising in food security.
- Corn Soy Blend (CSB) distribution to infants between 6 and 23 months of age.
Who will benefit?
With 4.500€, a daily school meal will be distributed to 650 children during one month to increase and retain their enrollment.
Project objectives
To support the food security and restoration of livelihoods of the most vulnerable displaced and host populations to enhance their resilience by providing gender and age sensitive life-saving food, nutrition and livelihood interventions.
