The massive 7.8-magnitude earthquake struck near the northern coastal town of Muisne in Ecuador on Saturday. Widespread severe damage is reported and a state of emergency has been declared in six provinces. There have been a number of aftershocks.
PLAN is working round the clock now to gather information and share data with relevant agencies and partners. It is crucial to reach affected communities quickly to assess the extent of the damage and coordinate the response.
