The storm of rain and wind that has hit the country, mainly the areas of Valencia, Murcia and Alicante, and that has caused the overflow of rivers, as well as floods in numerous municipalities in the south of the province, has already claimed six fatalities and the evacuation of thousands of people.

To respond to the situation, the Spanish Red Cross has deployed the emergency teams that contribute to the search and rescue, and has attended more than 6,400 people, to whom it has provided accommodation, maintenance and shelter in different shelters in Alicante and the Region of Murcia, for which the material and human resources have been sent from different autonomous communities and the activation of different collaboration agreements for the supply of food and water.

In the same way, the shelters have also been provided with a space for leisure and attention in order to help children.

The Red Cross intervention focuses on providing shelter, water and food staples to those affected, in addition to the rescue and evacuation of people.

Who will benefit?
