Description

The effects of the intense conflict taking place in Syria and much of Iraq have generated a crisis of unprecedented refugees and migrants in the European Union.

Thousands of families have fled the horror in desperate search of a decent life, while many others have remained in the country. There are an estimated 7.6 million internally displaced and nearly 4 million have been displaced or moved by neighboring countries.
SOS Children Villages acts in emergencies that occur in countries where they are present. In Syria, they are not only responding to the most urgent needs, such as shelter or food supply, but working with unaccompanied children –working on the reunification with their families and other vulnerable families over the long term as once the emergency needs continue.
