Kālida Foundation offers a comprehensive, free and open psychosocial support program to all people with cancer, their families and caregivers, based on the model implemented for 25 years by the international organization Maggie 's with a network of 30 centers in the United Kingdom, Tokyo and Japan.

All services and activities are developed at Kālida Centers. The first to open its doors, of a future network of centers in the country, has been Kālida Sant Pau, located next to the Hospital de Sant Pau in Barcelona. The support offered is designed and implemented by a team of healthcare professionals (psycho-oncologists, specialist nurses in cancer support, social workers, nutritionists, physiotherapists ...) with the collaboration of  volunteers.

Kālida Sant Pau has been created under the concept of architecture to care. A protective space to accompany people who live with cancer in the needs they have during the oncological process, always in a complementary way to medical treatments.

  • Counseling from an oncology support specialist to help understand the diagnosis, treatment, and its side effects. Information based on scientific evidence.
  • Workshops and sessions to improve your physical well-being: nutrition, skin care, sleep and rest, sexuality, oncological aesthetics, relaxation, among others.
  • Carrying out adapted physical activities: cancer yoga, Nordic walking, tai-chi.

Who will benefit?

People with cancer and their close environment (family, caregivers or friends), regardless of where they receive treatment or their place of residence. In addition, many of the activities of this project can be carried out online.

Project objectives

Increase the physical and emotional well-being of people with cancer, their families and caregivers, helping to improve their quality of life, whatever the stage of their disease and its prognosis.
