Description

Down syndrome is a genetic disorder that is caused by the presence of an extra chromosome or a part of it. Down syndrome is the main cause of intellectual disability and the most common human genetic disorder. It occurs spontaneously, with an incidence of one for every 600-700 conceptions in the world.

In Spain, more than 90% of working-age people with Down syndrome remain inactive.

DOWN ESPAÑA develops a program of labor insertion in ordinary environment -inclusion labor- for people who are part of the active population, but who due to their intellectual disability do not manage to join standardized training actions or the labor market in a normalized way and, therefore, , are in a situation or at risk of exclusion in relation to their labor rights.
