Description
Since the emergence of COVID19, Food Banks have had to act quickly to be able to adapt their operations and respond to a growing demand for food by social entities. The post-COVID19 scenario seems to indicate that the current health emergency will be followed by a social emergency, in which many people will have difficulty satisfying basic needs. That is why the Food Banks do not stop working against the clock with the aim of helping to guarantee the right to food of the most vulnerable people in our environment.
Food Banks are non-profit social entities, based on volunteering and their objective is to collect the food surpluses of companies and redistribute them free of charge to people in need, avoiding waste. Its maxims are to fight food poverty and contribute to sustainable development for a cleaner world.
Activities
- Store and classify the food collected by the Bank to redistribute it to those most in need.
- Distribute to different social entities that mainly serve families in poverty situation and other groups at risk of social exclusion.
