Description

UNICEF dreams of a world where no child dies of avoidable causes, in which everyone is protected from abuse and exploitation, where the rights of children are guaranteed in any corner of the world. That day the work of UNICEF will no longer be necessary and it will be possible to announce that UNICEF closes.

Today is a dream, but it can be a reality if we all collaborate. UNICEF has been working tirelessly for more than 70 years to make the world a better place for children. In these years great achievements have been reached. For example, infant mortality has been reduced by 53% between 1990 and 2015, thanks to a global effort by many countries and many organizations such as UNICEF, which has helped millions of children to survive.

But even today, every 5 seconds a child dies due to causes that we can avoid, 28 million children have been forced to flee their homes because of the violence and 17 million children suffer severe acute malnutrition and can die. These are just some of the dangers to which children are exposed and the reason why UNICEF's work is still necessary.
