Description

We manufacture over 300 million tonnes of plastic a year – that is equivalent to the weight of the entire adult population of the planet. Of this, 8 million tonnes – 3% of global annual plastics waste – entered the ocean (through multiple outlets, including rivers).

As it journeys on ocean currents for many years the plastic breaks down due to the action of the sun and waves into tiny particles called microplastics. Unfortunately these attract toxins, toxins that can cause all manner of diseases in humans.

I order to cleanup the oceans Plastic Oceans organizes beach/sea educational cleanups.  The funds collected will cover supplies for volunteers, such as buckets, waste bags, latex gloves, rakes, transport of plastic waste, first aid kits, liability insurance, marketing, and any permits that are required by local municipalities.

With your help will be possible to develop 3 beach cleanup in Thailand.

Activities

  • Conduct beach cleanups, conferences, educational sessions, and more, to inspire people to care about the problem, empowering them to change and be part of the solution.
