In Mumbai (India) many children subsist by begging and do not attend school. These children are seen on the streets walking barefoot and learning to deceive people for money. They are involved in extremely dangerous dynamics with serious consequences for their life.
With this project, Educo will facilitate access to education for children in the suburbs of Mumbai between the ages of 5 and 18. For this purpose, they will rescue children who subsist by begging from the street and enroll them in educational centers.
- Rescue from the street children who subsist by begging in the city of Mumbai (India).
- Conduct social research on the welfare situation of these children.
- Enroll children in schools to avoid school absenteeism.
- Strengthen the capacities of the police through awareness-raising workshops on procedures adapted to the needs of children, in accordance with the Juvenile Justice Law.
Who will benefit?
This project will benefit 900 children from the suburbs of Mumbai between the ages of 5 and 18.
Rescuing from the street children who subsist by begging in the city of Mumbai, India and get them to school and enjoy all their rights and live free of exploitation.
