Description

The escalation of hostilities in Ukraine poses an immediate threat to the lives and well-being of the country's 7.5 million children.

In recent days, educational facilities and major water supply infrastructure have been damaged by heavy gunfire along the line of contact (which separates controlled and non-government-controlled areas).

In this circumstance, tens of thousands of families could be forced to move to other cities if hostilities do not diminish, which would drastically increase humanitarian needs.

UNICEF is working across the country to save the lives of children in these times of great uncertainty.

Activities

  • Transport of safe water to conflict-affected areas through the use of trucks.
  • Positioning of emergency supplies related to health, hygiene and education as close as possible to the communities near the line of contact.
  • Coordination with the municipalities in the area to ensure that aid immediately reaches the children and families who need it most.
  • Psychosocial help for children who present traumas due to the chronic situation of insecurity.

Who will benefit?

Will be distributed 270 emergency kits
