The Casa do Gaiato is a shetler for orphans in southern Mozambique. A true family for those who have had the misfortune of losing theirs. Fleeing the traditional concept of an orphanage, the Casa do Gaiato center functions as a large family, in which older children have the mission of protecting and caring for younger children, under the supervision of specialized personnel.
At present, the center welcomes 159 children and young people, who receive a human, academic and professional education. Although these orphans lived very traumatic experiences and come from extremely poor means, without having enjoyed opportunities of any kind, their behavior when they are in the Casa do Gaiato is usually exemplary. Quickly integrated by their older "brothers", they immediately enter into the dynamic of such a positive functioning that exists in the Casa.
One of the most urgent needs of Casa do Gaiato is to renovate the mattresses where children sleep, which have not been able to be replaced for more than 10 years. For this reason, the Fundación Mozambique Sur will contribute to the maintenance of the Casa by acquiring mattresses that favor the rest of the children.
Acquisition of 32 matresses to equip the Casa do Gaiato orphanage.
Qui en bénéficiera ?
