18,000 children under 5 die every year prematurely from diseases that could be prevented or treated if they had access to simple and affordable interventions such as vaccines.
Vaccination is one of the best way to give children a healthy life and prevent diseases. It is also an effective preventive mechanism and the most cost effective way to save lives.

Gavi is an international organisation that was created in 2000 to improve access to new and underused vaccines for children living in the world’s poorest countries. Gavi is the Vaccine Alliance, which brings together public and private sectors with the shared goal of creating equal access to vaccines for children, wherever they live.

La Obra Social “la Caixa” and Bill&Melinda Gates Foundation have teamed up to ensure access to immunisation and protect children from the 70 poorest countries in the world, by multiplying by four each donation.

  • Introduce and offer an equitable vaccine coverage in the world's poorest countries.
  • Provide access to vaccines and ensure transport conditions.
  • Adapt markets for vaccines and other immunization-related products.

Qui en bénéficiera ?

Though La Obra Social “la Caixa” and Bill&Melinda Gates Foundation that will quadruplicate each euro donated by Promofarma clients children from the 70 poorest countries in the world will have access to vaccination.

This immunised children will have higher cognitive abilities and will be more likely to attend school and go on to be productive members of their community.
Also illness and long-term disability will be reduced which will generate savings for health systems and families.
